Amazing facts about Fantasy Island

Providing a perfect holiday destination packed full of adventure, Fantasy Island offers fun for all the family. There are exciting rides for thrill-seekers and a chance for retail therapy for shopaholics, not to mention unforgettable firework displays over the summer. Near to stunning Skegness and close to the Lincolnshire coast, it’s not tricky to see why Fantasy Island has become a favourite for families enjoying day trips in the UK. While we wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve heard of this award-winning park, read on for some amazing facts about Fantasy Island you can wow your family with on the ride there.

Roller coaster riding for charity

Fantasy island is famous for its Millennium Ride, which was developed and built to welcome in the year 2000. From its multiple vertical loops to its sidewinder and low helix to its speed that makes it the seventh fastest in the UK, the Millennium is a thrill-ride not to be missed.

In 2011, Darren Brettell rode the roller coaster for 140 laps, raising £365 for the charity, Cancer Research, until Fantasy Island pitched in with a donation of their own, raising his final funds to £500.

Ride from the beginning

The Rhombus Rocket is renowned for being a firm favourite of families visiting Fantasy Island who never forget the rush as this coaster hurtles close to the park’s many major attractions, ramping up the thrill factor. The ride proved so popular it even had another named after it at one point in the park’s history.

While it’s been significantly upgraded over the years, Rhombus Rocket has been running since the funfair originally opened its doors in 1995, making it among the first-ever rides onsite.

Record-breaking entertainment and shopping

While Fantasy Island is celebrated for its exhilarating rides, it has far more in store for those who drop by on a day trip. The park also has the distinction of not only being the largest Family Entertainment Centre based on the UK’s east coast but also hosts the biggest seven-day market in the whole of Europe.

All-year-round activities

Fantasy Island is constantly updating its themes and attractions throughout the year, ensuring no matter how many times guests visit, each trip is always a unique experience. You might be seeking a great day out in Lincolnshire or finding things to do in Skegness on a family holiday, but either way, Fantasy Island is an ideal destination every month of the year.
