We all know how important it is to take care of our planet. Luckily, there are lots of things you can do to help, even when you’re enjoying a great holiday or exciting day out at Fantasy Island. Here are a few things that we’ve put in place, and that the whole family can do at Fantasy Island, to help protect the world we live in.
1. Ditch that plastic water bottle
There are plenty of ways to avoid using plastic water bottles. Reusable water bottles are really popular, so if you have one, fill it at home and then bring it with you for the day. Alternatively, when you visit Fantasy Island, you can buy Cano Water!
This environmentally-friendly canned water means a huge reduction in the number of plastic bottles we use. The water comes in a recyclable can that you can seal and unseal, letting you use it just as you would a bottle of water. Cano Water is available from several of our food and drink outlets, so make sure you pick one up next time you’re thirsty.
2. Swap plastic for Vegware
Disposable plastic packaging for takeaway food can lead to a lot of waste. If you want to be more environmentally friendly when choosing a tasty lunch or snack at Fantasy Island, pick any of our own eateries. We’re proud that, instead of plastic packaging, we’re using Vegware. This plant-based packaging is made using sustainable materials and can be composted alongside general food waste.
Added to that, if you’re following a plant-based diet to be kinder to the environment, you’ll find a selection of mouth-watering vegetarian and vegan dishes at the many food outlets throughout the park.
3. Be careful with your litter
It may sound obvious, but one of the simplest things you can do to look after our environment is to be careful with litter. Make sure you dispose of litter in the bins provided and recycle your waste when you can. If you really aren’t able to find a bin, we recommend taking your litter with you to throw away.
There are lots of small ways that we can help to look after the planet. At Fantasy Island, we’re proud to be making it easier for all of our visitors to be kinder to our environment. We’re aiming to offer even more ways to be environmentally friendly at our park in the future.
