Fantasy Island and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust Collaborate for Second Successful Beach Clean-Up Event

On May 22nd 2023, staff members of Fantasy Island, joined by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and Skegness Coastal Access for All, came together for the second beach clean-up event aimed at maintaining the cleanliness of Skegness beach.

With 60 enthusiastic participants, the event proved to be a resounding success as they diligently worked to clear the shoreline of litter and debris.

Vicki Bush from Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust accompanied the volunteers, “It was a pleasure to join Skegness Pier and Coastal Access for All to clean Skegness beach. It is amazing how much rubbish gets onto our beaches and the staff team from Skegness Pier’s hard work has helped to make the beach a cleaner and safer place for wildlife and visitors.”

Phil Gaskell from Skegness Coastal Access for All also accompanied the team, “We were pleased to continue support for the company’s beach cleans with equipment and advice. The staff were hardworking and enjoyed themselves throughout. We are very pleased that a major local company is showing such a continued interest in the environment. Please look out for CAFA’S public beach cleans coming up soon.”

The collaborative efforts between Fantasy Island, CAFA and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust exemplified the power of community engagement and united efforts towards a shared objective.The remarkable achievement of the beach clean-up underlines the significance of community involvement and the urgent need for sustainable practices to safeguard our environment. This event is part of a broader sustainability initiative embraced by Fantasy Island and Skegness Pier, which aims to minimise their environmental impact and foster sustainable behaviours within the local community.
